Laser performance of a new laser crystal: Nd:NaY(WO4)2 pumped by a Ti:sapphire

Abstract


  • We have reported the crystal growth of a new laser crystal:Na:NaY(WO4)2 in this paper. And the transmission and emission spectra of this crystal with different Nd3+ concentrations were measured. Using a Ti:Sapphire laser as the pumping source, the laser performance at 1060 nm was studies. The laser threshold was 25 mW and the maximum output power of 192 mW was obtained with an incident pump power of 548 mV when the T=3% output coupler was used. This corresponded to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 35%.
