Laser characteristics of Nd3+:NaY(WO4)2 crystal pumped at 595 nm

Abstract


  • By using the pulse Q-switched dye laser as pump source, the laser operation at 1.064 μm with a new laser crystal, Nd3+ doped NaY(WO4)2 (eg. Nd:NYW) was demonstrated, pumped at 595 nm in the short-wavelength absorption band. 1.08 mJ output energy at a pump energy of 24.2 mJ was obtained. The pump threshold energy is less than 5.0 mJ.
