Journal Article

Abstract

  • This survey was designed to assess the quality of one aspect of occupational therapy service: the prescription and provision of equipment to clients. One hundred clients were randomly selected from occupational therapy records held in the hospital and community centre. The questionnaire surveyed both self care and mobility equipment. Results showed that the majority of clients (98.2 percent used their equipment regularly. Seventy percent of clients perceived they had received instruction for safe usage of equipment. The quality of the equipment was rated by 82 percent of clients as ‘good’. Most clients (75 percent) had received their equipment through a government organisation and were able to identify where to return the equipment accurately. 1989 Occupational Therapy Australia Limited
