Acquisition and processing of an engine instantaneous rotational speed pulse signal

Abstract


  • This paper describes a basic principle for an engine instantaneous rotational speed testing by using photoelectric sensor. At the same time, it gives a method of acquisition and processing for instantaneous rotational speed also. We transform an engine instantaneous rotational speed into pulse signal by photoelectric sensor at first. Then acquire pulse signal and calculate instantaneous rotational speed by using software programming count method. At last, we calculate the real-time instantaneous rotational speed by using interpolation method. We also analyze the problems of large interference noise and lower signal-noise ratio during testing in this paper. It is a good idea to process this signal and remove the interference noise by using suitable digital low filter. The result is satisfied.
