Abstract


  • A new approach for the atropoenantioselective synthesis of biaryls is described that utilizes a chiral 2-carbon unit bridge to prefix the two aryl moieties prior to the coupling step. The degree of atroposelectivity appears to be determined by the degree of flexibility of this bridge.
