Abstract

• In the teaching of computing subjects at tertiary level, student programming assignments are used for both learning and assessment. The manual marking of such an assignment by tutors is tedious and inconsistent. The use of a computerized system for this purpose reduces the tutor's workload while providing objective assessment of the students' work as well as timely feedback on their progress. © 1989.
