RESEARCH NOTE: A THREE-DIMENSIONAL OIL FILM TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN TILTING THRUST BEARINGS.

Abstract


  • A comprehensive picture of the behavior of the tilting thrust bearing can be obtained through a simulated three-dimensional bearing. Oil film pressure and temperature are evaluated by the finite element method through an iterative procedure, which produces results that compare quite well with the experimental results.
