Abstract


  • In this paper, the pressure and frictional losses of hydrodynamic thrust bearings in the transition regime is evaluated from the turbulent theories of Constantinescu, Ng & Pan and Hirs. The effects of temperature, inertia and turbulence are considered in the analysis.
