Asymmetrical rolling and self excited vibrations in a hot roughing mill

Abstract


  • This paper discusses the simulation of self excited torsional vibration of rolling mill drives and vertical vibration of a Horizontal Mill taking into account asymmetrical rolling. The influence of the mass, rigidity and damping of the hot steel slab have been considered in the simulation of asymmetrical self excited vibrations.
