Dynamic loads on rolling mill drives

Abstract


  • This paper describes the simulation to determine the dynamic loads on two rolling mill drives, one a horizontal roughing mill and another an attached vertical edger. These drives experience excessive dynamic loads resulting from the torsional vibration of inertias and shafts with significant backlash from the gearings and couplings.
