Optimization of the curve of short stroke control in slab edging by genetic algorithm

Abstract


  • At the roughing stands of hot tandem rolling, short stroke control was used for increasing yield and decreasing width deviation. The curve of short stroke control which can't be optimized with conventional methods was optimized with a new optimization algorithm - genetic algorithm. The results show the width deviation at ends is largely decreased and the length of the width deviation area is shortened.
