Process simulation of work roll shifting and crown control for CVC HSM

Abstract


  • The roll elastic deformation model, work roll thermal crown model, roll wear model, crown adjustment and work roll shifting setup model, and load distribution model were described. The software based on these models was developed to calculate the CVC (continuous variable crown) work roll shifting of the HSM (hot strip mill), crown after rolling and rolling force distribution from the input of entry crown and target crown. Using the software, the process with the field rolling conditions was simulated and the calculating results are in good agreement with the production data.
