Energy-loss rate of a particle in a marginal Fermi liquid

Abstract


  • The energy-loss rate for a particle in a high-Tc superconductor in the normal state, modeled by the marginal Fermi liquid, is investigated. For scattering that involves an energy-loss small compared with the temperature, we found the energy-loss rate to be independent of the temperature to leading order (in momentum transfer) and an overall tendency of decreasing with increasing temperature, a behavior quite contrary to that of normal metals. © 1992 The American Physical Society.
