Analysis of ribbed-strip rolling by rigid-viscoplastic FEM

Abstract


  • The rolling of ribbed-strips is analyzed in the paper using the slightly compressible rigid-viscoplastic finite element method. The energy functional and the rigid-plastic finite element equations for the ribbed-strip rolling process are derived. The simulation results are compared with those obtained by experiments and found to be in good agreement with the latter.
