Research and application of dynamic shape control strategy for cold rolled wide strip

Abstract


  • The profile and flatness are two key factors evaluating the production quality of strip shape, while the profile includes two terms, which are crown and edge drop. The dynamic shape control of strip is an important issue in the process of tandem cold rolling, and it is usually coupled with the gauge control of strip. In this paper, a set of coupling models, such as crown and flatness coupling model, shape and gauge coupling model, are studied in different conditions; A dynamic shape control system is developed together with corresponding decoupling design, so as to improving the tranditional method of shape feedforward control. The models have been applied on 1420 five stands 6-hi tandem cold mills, and good results is obtained. © 2009 IEEE.
