Polycrystal geometry modeling of crystal plasticity finite element method with voronoi diagram

Abstract


  • Generally regular hexagon or quadrangle elements were used to represent grains,and these methods can't express the irregularity of grain boundaries.The Voronoi diagram is a fundamental data structure about space partitioning.In this paper,the polycrystal model was created in ABAQUS with Voronoi diagram method,which can express the shape of the grains and the irregular grain boundaries.A method to describe the grain size and texture distribution was introduced by adjusting the modeling parameters.
