Abstract


  • We are pleased to present this supplementary issue of Materials Research Innovations containing

    selected papers from the 15th International Conference on Advances in Materials and Processing

    Technologies (AMPT2012) held in Wollongong, Australia, 23–26 September 2012. The Advances in

    Materials and Processing Technologies (AMPT) conference was found in 1993 at the Dublin City

    University, Dublin, Ireland. Since then the AMPT conferences were held in Ireland (1995, 1999 and

    2003), Portugal (1997), Malaysia (1998, 2009), Spain (2001), Poland (2004), USA (2006), Korea (2007),

    Bahrain (2008), Pairs (2010) and Turkey (2011). This year, the conference program covered over 450

    papers in 72 technical sessions and 100 poster presentations with a broad range of topics such as

    materials, deformation processing, materials removal process, processing of new and advanced

    materials, welding and joining, surface engineering and other related processes. The Conference has

    been a highlight in Materials and Processing Technologies 2012 Calender.
