The effects of circular and linear time orientations on personal savings estimates and savings behavior

Conference Paper

Abstract

  • We examined the effects of circular and linear time orientation on personal savings estimates and savings behavior. Results from two experimental studies revealed that people who applied a savings approach emphasizing circular time orientation, compared to linear time orientation, provided higher personal saving estimates and saved more money.
