This paper proposes a dual band CPW-fed slot antenna design for wireless network applications which operates at 4.9 GHz (X-band) and 7.7 GHz (C-band). The main idea is to embed two symmetrical F-shaped slits to generate a second resonant frequency. The measured results show that the antenna achieves a -10 dB bandwidths of 500 MHz at 4.9 GHz and 400 MHz at 7.7 GHz with reflection coefficients of -18 dB for both x-band and C-band. Moreover, the total gains of the proposed antenna are 5.9 dBi and 4.7 dBi at 5.1 and 7.9 GHz respectively. Measured results are in good agreement with the simulation results.
