Advance switching technique for single phase voltage source inverters

Abstract


  • Nowadays single phase voltage source inverters are widely used in different applications including power supplies for superconductor insertion devices where power conversion efficiency highly depends upon the switching algorithms. Traditional modulation techniques cause considerable losses and show poor conversion efficiency. In this paper, an advanced switching technique is proposed which provides lower total harmonic distortion and power conversion losses. The proposed technique not only improves the inverter efficiency, increases the life time. The proposed technique is verified with a laboratory test platform.
