Type Of Work
- Visual Arts - Solo Exhibition
Slow Force is a mixed media installation developed collaboratively by Agnieszka Golda and Martin Johnson. The exhibition brings together diverse strands of art practices including textiles, sculpture and painting. It draws on Golda’s and Johnson’s field studies in Arimatsu, Japan and Mt Keira, Australia to explore the connections between the human and non-human worlds. In this exhibition ‘slow making processes’ including natural dyeing, shibori techniques, needle felting, and hand carving, stenciling and painting are combined with natural materials such as Australian native plant dyes, silk, wool and wood to highlight ecologically sustainable practices as a response to current global ecological challenges.
