Testing Times: NATO War-Making in Afghanistan and Beyond

Chapter

Abstract

  • The hard experience of war in Afghanistan has not put NATO off going global.

On the contrary, the New Strategic Concept deepens NATO’s commitment to its

global security role. So it is an opportune time to ask: how has NATO performed

in Afghanistan, and what does this tell us about NATO’s ability to fight future

    wars?
