Fuzzy logic based an improved controller for wave energy conversion systems

Abstract


  • This paper represents analysis, design and simulation of an standalone oceanic wave energy conversion (WEC) system including an improved fuzzy logic controller for voltage control using linear permanent magnet generator (LPMG). Mathematical functions of electrical power generation from WEC have been used as input of the controller to obtain steady output voltage for different load conditions by controlling modulation index of the pulse width modulation (PWM) of the inverter. Different waveforms of the input voltage, output voltage, current, power as well as membership function with rule viewer, output parameter, control of modulation index of the proposed controller and comparison of the output voltage with and without controller are also presented. MATLAB has been used as simulation software to make an electrical power system for application environment for the whole system.
