Partnerships in research: A collaborative research project to develop a Framework for Carer Recognition in the Home Care Packages Program

Abstract


  • This is a presentation of the preliminary findings from a participatory

    action research project highlighting the importance of research

    partnerships. The research explores the lived experience of family and

    friend carers of older people who are being supported to remain at home

    by a Home Care Package. The project investigates the key relational

    aspects of caring and the impact that the increasingly individualised;

    market based aged care system in Australia has on carers and care

    recipients.
