    Definition

    Uranium-series (U-series) isotopes are radionuclides that compose the 238U and 235U decay chains. Measurements of U-series isotopes in soils and river sediments can be used to infer timescales of chemical weathering and derive quantitative estimates of soil age and production rates as well as sediment transport rates through catchments.
