Drury, Peta Doctor

Senior Lecturer & Director Clinical Partnerships

Overview

I am currently employed as a Senior Lecturer and Director of Clinical Collaborations at the University of Wollongong.

I was awarded my PhD in 2014 and I have had over 25 years of higher education experience.  I am passionate about teaching and research and I have received awards across both domains. For teaching I have received the Carrick Award (2006) and the UniJobs Lecturer of the Year award (2010).  My PhD was part of a larger randomised controlled trial, the Quality on Acute Stroke Care Trial (QASC) which was awarded several research awards including the NSW Premier's Public Sector Award and National Lead Clinicians Group, 2014 Award for Excellence in Innovative Implementation of Clinical Practice.

My research interests include: acute stroke; implementation research and evidence-based practice.

To date, I have published across a range of journals including the Lancet, International Journal of Stroke, International Journal of Nursing Studies and International Journal of Clinical Practice. I have successfully attained more than $60,000 in teaching grants.

I have a particular commitment to work with and mentor others to develop their academic careers. In doing so I hope to raise the profile of research and scholarship whilst working within the tertiary sector.
