Overview

In 2015 Dr Rook was awarded her PhD in Management for her thesis titled: 'Work integrated Learning in Human Resource Management’. She examined the range of Work-integrated Learning programs in undergraduate human resource management degrees in Australian universities, and the impact of this range on the teaching and employability of graduates.

Prior to completion of her PhD, she successfully completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations and a Bachelor of Business and Commerce First class Honours from Western Sydney University.

Dr Rook is focussed on developing a strong research program within two main areas of interest. Laura’s first research area is in the development of successful Work-integrated Learning (WIL) programs and outcomes for business graduates.  The foundation of this interest was built from her PhD study that examined the development of WIL programs within the discipline of Human Resource Management. Flowing from this strong foundation and combining her focus in research with her passion for teaching, Laura has extended her research interests to include: business ethics and corporate governance and organisational learning and performance management.
