Research Overview


  • Toxicology sits at the coalescence point between chemistry, biology, pharmacology and medicine involving the study of the effects of chemicals on living organisms. My particular interest lies in the toxicity of common legal and illegal drugs including alcohol, nicotine, cannabis and other illicit drugs and the potential changes in the toxicity profiles of these drugs created by novel modes of administration and changes to dosage protocols. My research covers everything from analytical toxicology determining chemical composition in drug or biological samples to in vitro toxicity studies (biology) to analysis of motivations and consequences following intoxication (psychology).
