Overview


UOW Researcher Jenny Beck is using Mass Spectrometry as a technique to screen for new drugs which can bind to DNA (for use as anticancer agents). She explains how ‘telomerase biology research’ could unlock the mechanisms of a number of diseases, and possibly even ageing.

Professor Jenny Beck began her research career with an interest in proteins and enzymes. This was followed by postdoctoral work which investigated the molecular basis of how proteins involved in drug metabolism transfer electrons from one to another in reactions that are a prelude to elimination of drugs from the body.
