Overview

Educated at the University of Jordan. I spent periods of time working in a research role within the Royal Scientific Society, Jordan. My research was focused on the analysis of trace organic pollutants (TrOCs) in environmental samples and foodstuff (1991-2004). In 1995, I honored a competitive UNESCO scholarship with a top-up from the British Council, where I spent three months as a researcher at the Norwich Central Laboratory, Food and Environment Research Agency, UK. In 2004, I received the Australian Postgraduate Award Industry (APAI) to conduct my Ph.D. under title “Characterization of Reverse Osmosis Concentrate” (2004-2008). After that, I worked as an Environmental Consultant for USAID for a hazardous waste management project (2009-2011), and hazardous waste and landfill Consultant (2011-2014).
I have worked within the High Education sector since 2013 starting from Jordan, I taught water and environment engineering subjects in addition to membrane technology. During that time, I engaged with a research group in waste management.
Since 2018, I am a research fellow at the Strategic Water Infrastructure Lab (SWIL), University of Wollongong acting as a researcher implementing more than 15 years’ hands-on experience in Gas Chromatography-MS and Liquid Chromatography-MS. I have developed methods for analysis of trace organic pollutants and antibiotics in environmental sample, training and mentoring High Research Students on analytical methods.
