Overview


Dr. Ivy Zhou received her Ph.D., titled “The Impact of Market Conditions, Global Market Liquidity and High Frequency Trading on the Price Effects of Trades in Future Markets” from Macquarie University in 2018. Before pursuing her study in Australia, she completed an M.Phil. degree in real estate finance from University of Cambridge with a distinction grade on her thesis, and a B.Sc. degree in Mathematics & Business with first-class Honours from Edinburgh University. Her professional experience includes research and analysis for the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), Core Logic/RP Data and McKinsey Consulting.

Research Overview


  • Ivy's primary research interest is in market microstructure and derivatives markets. Her previous research looks at the liquidity, price impact, price discovery and co-movement across global index futures and interest rate futures markets. Her current research focuses on the intraday trading behaviour in futures and options markets and the effects of social media on global stock markets' liquidity.
