As well as a Lecturer in Accounting at the Sydney Business School, UOW, Ian is a partner of Impact Forensics. His qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from UOW, Graduate Certificate in Accountancy from the University of Technology, Sydney, Master of Commerce from the University of NSW and Master of Forensic Accounting (with Distinction) from UOW.
He began his career with The Shell Company of Australia then established his own successful businesses in retail, personnel and office automation. Ian joined the Australian Taxation Office where he held the position of Assistant Commissioner. Ian gained experience in managing and control of the interface between the company distribution business and franchise fuel retail and commercial franchises.
Ian was a member of several senior Tax Office committees such as those leading high profile investigations and self-managed superannuation compliance. Ian currently leads the University of Wollongong's internationally recognised, post graduate Master of Forensic Accounting Program.
Ian has been involved in forensic accounting assignments across industries such as retail, not for profit, hotels, licensed clubs, franchises and distribution. His experience includes cash economy estimates, business valuations, litigation support roles in family law matters and commercial disputes.
