Overview


Dr. Guanyu Deng obtained a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wollongong in 2014. He has accumulated rich research experiences working as Associate Research Fellow (or Postdoctoral Fellow), Research Fellow and Visiting Fellow (or Guest Researcher) from various universities and research institutes in Australia, Japan and USA. Now, he is a Research Fellow at the School of Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronic and Biomedical Engineering, University of Wollongong.

Dr Deng’s major research interests include: (i) advanced manufacturing; (ii) development of advanced computational modelling to investigate the evolutions of plastic stress/strain, texture, temperature and phase; (iii) fundamental study of tribology, fatigue and oxidation of metallic materials; (iii) non-destructive characterizations of phase, texture and residual stress by XRD, neutron and synchrotron diffraction techniques; (iv) design and development of novel materials for tribological and structural applications.

Dr Deng has a strong track record of publications and rich expertise to solve practical industrial problems. As a young researcher, he has already delivered 8 invited talks in highly referred international conferences and won several prestigious awards.
