Abstract


  • We aim by way of a PhD (APAI) program to develop two new technologies to facilitate cutting-edge research in correlating protein structure with function. One aim is to exploit our developed capacity to replicate DNA in vitro to develop a new isothermal DNA amplification system that has applications for selection of proteins with new functions from libraries of variants using microfluidic devices. The other is to improve a library-based method for identification of domain boundaries in larger proteins to facilitate structure determination and identification of sites of protein-protein interaction.
