Abstract


  • The manufacturing of metal strips is an advanced, but developing interdisciplinary research field and is very important in Australia. The future growth and sustainability of thin strip products is significantly dependent on the development of innovative control model and knowledge of rolling mechanics. Thin strip with good shape, profile and flatness is widely used in our daily lives and industry, and has been a significant focus of manufacturers and researchers. This project will bring together scientists with significant expertise in rolling to develop a new rolling technology, a novel smart crown control model, and an innovative simulation method to establish an advanced shape control technology for producing quality thin strips.
