Abstract


  • the laser flash technique is currently the most widely accepted method for precise measurement of thermal diffusvity, thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity. It not only characterizes the ability of the substance to transfer heat but also yields information about the lattice vibrations, electronic states near the Fermi level, bandgap energy, low temperature electronic characteristics etc. The aim of this application is to strengthen Australian research activities in the development of advanced materials, food processing technologies and biomedical components through pruchase of the newly developed laser Flash Thermophysical Properties analyzer to characterize a range of important thermophysical properties from - 180 degrees C to 2,500degrees C
