The 6th Conference of the Combined Australian Materials Societies (CAMS 2018)

Grant

Scheme

  • NSW Research Attraction and Acceleration Program

Abstract

  • The Combined Australian Materials Societies Conference (CAMS2018) ¿Advancing Materials and Manufacturing¿ continues a series of meetings that evolved from the cooperation of two eminent materials societies in Australia: Materials Australia (MA) and the Australian Ceramic Society (ACS). The forging of joint objectives has created a series of meetings that started in 2004. CAMS2018 builds on this legacy and we are hosting the 2018 meeting in the University of Wollongong (UOW) in November 2018.The CAMS series originated in Melbourne in 2004 and has continued bi-annually with the conference alternating between New South Wales and Victoria State locations. The conference is set to be an exceptional interdisciplinary technical meeting, and uniquely brings together scientists and industry from organisations all over Australia and beyond to discuss the latest advancements in materialsscience & engineering. The conference is focussed on advancing materials and manufacturing in Australia and Symposia themes include exciting presentations in areas such as advanced manufacturing and advances in materials characterisation. There will also be a focus on corrosion and degradation, as well as the selection of materials for demanding environments and much more. The scientific goals will be to identify and provide solutions to materials science, manufacturing and engineering issues and to enhance national and international collaborative efforts. Abstracts are being solicited in the following topics:Additive manufacturingAdvanced manufacturingAdvances in materials characterisationAdvances in steel technologyBiomaterialsCements and geopolymersCeramicsComposites in roadmaking and bridge buildingCorrosion and degradation of materialsDurable materials for demanding environmentsInnovative building materialsLight Metals designMaterials for energy generation, conversion and storageMaterials for the nuclear fuel cycleMaterials simulation and modellingMembrane manufacture, materials and applicationsMetal casting and thermomechanical processingMicrostructure and properties of compositesNanostructured and nanoscale materialsNanostructured materials and interfacesRaw materials processingRefractoriesSolar energy conversionSurfaces and interfacesThin films and coatingsUtilisation of waste materialsWear-resistant materials
