X-ray crystallography is an essential tool for understanding life processes at the molecular level and is applied in biomolecular science, drug discovery and protein engineering. State-of-the-art X-ray facilities, located at the University of Wollongong and Australian National University, will provide essential infrastructure to researchers in the southern-NSW/ACT region. The outcome will be vastly increased research productivity, new and enhanced collaborations, and efficient use of such national facilities as the Australian Synchrotron.
