Abstract


  • This project aims to re-evaluate the effectiveness of microalloying elements additions for a range of strip and plate steel products using advanced characterisation techniques. Understanding the effects of various processing routes on the microalloying elements interactions and control over the microstructure and properties development will provide opportunities to minimise microalloying levels in steels and improve processing schedules. This will save natural resources and result in an enhanced range of steel products for building, mining, transport and manufacturing industries. This will reinforce BlueScope Steel Ltd.'s position as an internationally competitive steel producer and will provide new market growth opportunities.
