Abstract


  • This research question is the focus of a PhD research project undertaken by Ms Shiva Pedram under the supervision of Prof Perez (Engineering) and A/Prof Palmisano (Psychology). This research aims to evaluate the direct and indirect effects of Virtual Reality-based training on the competency of rescue brigades in the mining industry. Based in Wollongong, Ms Pedram has already developed strong links with the Mines Rescue facility in Woonona where most of her field work will happen.
