Abstract


  • The proposed project will apply methods from the field of Library and Information Science toprovide optimal access for end-user stakeholders to existing and prospective resources in theOLT database (http://www.olt.gov.au/resources). The project will determine how the resources inthe database should be described by identifying the key attributes that need to be recorded andestablishing taxonomies to represent these attributes, with reference to user needs and literarywarrant. The project will re-index and re-organise all the existing resources according to the newschema and vocabularies, and produce clear guides on their application for the benefit of futureauthors and the OLT, covering both keywords and abstracts. By mapping the existing resourcesagainst the new taxonomies, an overview of the databases' coverage will also be provided. Theproject team includes library and information science researchers and practitioners, as well ashigher education learning and teacher leaders and researchers.
