Abstract


  • This project is in pure mathematics. It will investigate how recent advances in operator algebras, especially the Fellow's work in graph algebras, can be applied to better understand and study problems in dynamics and geometry. Deep results have provided a lexicon for translating operator-algebraic phenomena into information about the evolution and shape of topological spaces. Recent discoveries in graph algebras have produced an extensive array of well-understood operator algebras and powerful analytic techniques for their study. The time is ripe to exploit the visual intuition these examples afford to extend our understanding of dynamics and geometry.
