Abstract


  • The aim of this research is to investigate hydro-geological techniques to improve predictions of the water/gas/sediments flow in fractured or porous rock. Development of analytical formulations to describe 3-phase flow in the rock matrix supported by high pressure laboratory permeability testing of rock samples is imperative to predict how groundwater sediments and drilling debris restrict the laminar and turbulent water-gas flow through the porous/jointed rock. This new part of the study not attempted before will significantly contribute to leading-edge fundamental knowledge, providing insight to hydromechanics of porous/jointed rock and become an essential part of accurate ground stability evaluation.
