Abstract


  • This research will identify the knowledge required to enable citizens to make use of today's complex food supply. It will identify key dimensions of food knowledge that are believed by food experts and consumers to be useful for consumers from a variety of social, age and interest groups. This will enable instruments to be devised to measure relevant aspects of food knowledge. The findings of the research are likely to influence the content of food education curricula, food communication programs and food policy.The research will help promote the consumption of healthy, sustainable diets in the general community.
