Abstract


  • Worldwide energy shortages and global warming are among the world's biggest concerns. Lithium ion batteries are significant systems providing electricity with no greenhouse gas emissions. This project aims to develop highly reliable lithium ion batteries for electric /hybrid vehicles applications. The success of this project will lead to innovative anodes with high capacity and high cycling stability, a reliable battery management system, and better understanding of the characteristics of lithium ion batteries, which will make an important contribution to the nation in the areas of science, technology, economy, and the environment.
