Abstract


  • An important issue in tissue engineering is to achieve appropriate and precise structural organization of cells, while keeping them alive. The aim of this project is to develop new inkjet equipment, methods and materials that enable assembly of tissue mimics comprised of hydrogel composite materials with a homogeneously distributed cell population. These materials will have immediate applications in studying the effects of electrical cues on the attachment, orientation and elongation behaviour of cells, as well as probing cell response to drugs.
