Abstract


  • The ability to create organic conductors with biocomponents including living cells effectively integratedpresents a new approach to medical bionics. The ability to fabricate 3D structures wherein the dynamicbioactive conducting polymer components are integrated with both spatial and then temporal (in response to electrical stimuli) resolution provided presents further new dimensions. Initially targeted as bionic platforms for nerve/muscle repair we expect to use the knowledge accrued in developing bionic devices for epilepsy detection and control and bone regeneration.
