Abstract


  • Monocyte-derived interlukins (IL) are central in inflammation and immunity, and in various inflammatory and autoimmune disorders in humans. Bacterial toxins and gout-associate crystals trigger the functional maturation and release of IL from monocytes. This process is mediated by NALP3 inflammasome, however little is known about its activation, and the subsequent maturation and release of IL in canines. This project will investigate the NALP3 inflammasome in canine monocytes.
