Overview


Dr Garcia is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at the University of Wollongong. He has served as Acting Dean, Deputy Head of School, Head of Students, Law Discipline Leader and Academic Program Director. He teaches Law of Business Organisations, Banking Law and Introduction to Law. Dr Garcia’s research interests focus on the fields of law and development, banking law, corporations law, international economic law and global political economy. Dr Garcia has been a Visiting Research Fellow at the Institute of Developing Economies, Japan External Trade Organization (IDE-JETRO) and a Visiting Professor at the Iberoamerican Institute, Sophia University (Japan). In Venezuela, Dr Garcia worked as a corporate lawyer and he served as the General Counsel of the Venezuelan Development Bank (BANDES) and as an in-house lawyer for the Venezuelan Investment Fund (FIV).
