Overview


Farid Shirvani has received his PhD in 2017 from University of Wollongong funded by SMART Scholarship. His PhD research is focused on application of Model Based Systems Engineering methodologies to facilitate the management of large infrastructure projects. He is proficient in developing the metamodels, modelling the complex systems and customizing and extending the modelling methodologies and tools. Farid is a “Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer” and “OMG Certified Expert in System Modelling” and he has been involved in SMART system modelling projects during his PhD studies. The main projects were ASA Architecture Modelling funded by TfNSW and TWS (Track Work Safety modelling) and ATM (Advanced Transport Model) funded by ACRI (Australian Council for Rail Innovation). Farid has published his research outcomes in international journals and conference proceedings. He has been also working as a tutor since 2011 at UoW, teaching a variety of subjects in School of Computing and Information Technology. Prior to his PhD, Farid received Masters of Information and Communication Technology from UoW and did Bachelors in Computer Science in Iran. He has the experience of working in two different software development companies in Iran as a programmer and network engineer.
