Overview


Dr. Farid Shirvani is a Systems Engineer at SMART Infrastructure Facility. He has a PhD in Model Based Systems Engineering specialises in procurement of complex infrastructure systems. He is OMG Certified Expert in System Modelling (OCSMP) as well as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. Farid has been involved in a variety of systems modelling and systems analysis projects for Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains and ACRI (Australasian Centre of Rail Innovations). He is skilled in conducting the system development life cycle activities within complex systems, from stakeholder needs analysis to concept of operations, development of system architecture and design, system specifications, and verification and validation of solutions against requirements. His research and teaching interests are Systems Engineering, complex systems modelling, developing metamodels and modelling languages, knowledge and information management, and method engineering for customizing the modelling methodologies and tools. Farid has published his research outcomes in international journals and conference proceedings. Prior to his PhD, he received Masters of Information and Communication Technology from UoW and BSc in Computer Science in Iran.
